The Mystery of 3: or, if you must, Lopsided Boobies

There were 4.

There were 4, only 4.

But then 1 day only 3 showed up.

Which 1 was responsible for the death of 4?

With 3, there’s a triangle of mistrust.

No 1 knows which way to turn.

Who did it?

2 are genuinely concerned.

But all 3 shot the other 2 suspicious glances.

But no 1 could be certain which of the other 2 was 

 guilty of destroying their quartet and making the trio.

2 of them liked the 4; 4 was their favorite number,

Yet they couldn’t remember 4 precisely.

4 became a vague memory.
