The Falling Ash: or, The Ultimate Weapon – The Ultimate Sin

i walked through ash and ember
it was in late November
i saw the fall of the world
as it unfurled

it started with a mushroom cloud
and ended in silence so loud
that even birds were soundless
honoring a loneliness so boundless

ashen flakes fell to the ground
they piled up without a sound
that flake of ash was somebody’s kin
the ultimate weapon – the ultimate sin
