Sleeper Car Dreamscape

The sleeper car dreamscape is constant sound and motion
A thin curtain separates one from the universe of humanity
The car sways as steel wheels clack hard over iron rails
That’s the backbeat to which one’s subconscious creates
One is snatched left, then right, by competing demons
A lurch threatens to send one dropping out of the upper berth
toward the glow of some unseen fiery pit far, far below
The grating squeal of steel on steel is the devil’s fiddle and bow

Where else could your mind go?
